We live up to our name. We are truly higher than you. 😛
We watched Mulan (again, using a DVD) in the morning (well at least three of us did), and Chunky Monkeys joined us, while waiting for Miss Weilin to arrive. Mr Alvin informed us that she would be arriving late as she had stayed back until 4am to help other instructors help another team set up for their animation.
Yes, our instructors are extremely dedicated, and while this may be a more extreme example, it is still evidence of the effort they put in for us. Here’s a shoutout to the instructors, you guys deserve it! 😀
As you may know, Mulan is a Disney movie, and Disney movies usually have songs in them. Mulan is no exception, with ‘Reflection’ and ‘I’ll Make a Man Out of You’ making (sound) waves around the world. So you can guess what the movie-watchers did when the songs came on. No prizes for guessing correctly. 😛 (I’d post a video but they’d kill me so yeah. Sorry.)
Anyway, Miss Weilin finally arrived, and she had our team gather around the TV in the centre.
The good news: WE COULD FINALLY PREVIEW OUR ANIMATION WIP ON A BIG SCREEN!!
The not-so-good news: we had a lot of things to improve on.
For us, improving means redoing. So the most “免费” (translation of free, except it’s of another definition) team had their work cut out for them for the remaining three days. But that’s okay. We can do this. We cannot break house rule #1, even if we (accidentally) break the rest (oops). 😛 So work, and work, and work…
As only two members of Chunky Monkeys were present, we decided to go for lunch with them. AND WE DIDN’T GO TO KOUFU!! So we went to McDonald’s, and someone started dipping their fries into the Oreo McFlurry like it was ketchup and everyone just started doing that. We are sane people, we swear.
We also decided to buy a Subway cookie for Miss Weilin for having stayed so late the previous day and we carved the pi symbol into it. (Reason being that we’ve done it once, so why not do it again?)
Believed Beliefs walked into our tent and pasted something on the canvas.
Apparently, Mr Alvin had printed them out and pasted them all over Believed Belief’s workspace to ‘motivate’ them, and Believed Beliefs decided to spread the ‘joy’ and gave some to the other teams. They took back the one they gave us, though, because they needed it for themselves. Oh well. 😛
For some reason, Crystal and Michaela started watching Corpse Party play-throughs on YouTube (we’re sorry, Mr Ellery)…
2/4 of Synch (NE8) paid a visit to the studio! 😀
Mr Ellery passed Miss Weilin a new voice recording of our poem. It sounded pretty formal and reminded me of the voiceover for Partta Kappa’s (NE8) animation. It didn’t sound too enthusiastic, but that’s the nature of our animation. We swear it’s not boring (it’s filled with puns how can you not love puns), though, no matter how much you love/hate Mathematics. 😛
Kok Hai of Acrylics, who was probably Kok H(igh), pasted this thing on our ‘Prettier Than You’ sign (we swear it was created just for the time-lapse video our Ambassador wanted, which you can watch here, and not for any other reason). Uh…thanks? O_____O
Anyway, there was a debriefing around 5.45pm and Mr James was giving us more information about what we should expect after Production, the voting process (REMEMBER TO VOTE FOR US (C06) AND JIO EVERYONE YOU KNOW), as well as the Social Media Award. The same three people of HigherThanYou who watched Mulan in the morning asked a fair amount of questions (like >90% of the questions asked), and Mr James commented to Mr Ellery, saying how “this team is very scheming” (due to the questions we asked). Oops. Oh well. 😛
