Hey guys! 🙂
Today was the 2nd day of production, we continued our rough animation, did/watched some filming 😀
Filming started at 10am, and many of the ‘talents’ and video crew started coming in at around 9:40am. Sarah, our ambassador, came with the video crew so we got to meet her today, although our official meeting is supposed to be on this Friday. There were many many people involved in filming, Mr Ellery filmed for us, along with a few children whom I am quite sure are somehow related to the instructors (I think two of them are Mr Xavier’s nephews), my brother and me (this is Chun hahah). Also, the lighting and camera equipment were all very very cool.
As my brother is involved with filming one of the scenes, I brought him along with me in the morning. In order for him to keep quiet and cooperate with us, I lent him my phone to play until 10am. He was thankfully cooperative until filming ended when he started being annoying again.
In the afternoon, from 2pm to around 4pm, another scene was being filmed, but Ms Kaching said that we did not need to be there and that we are only allowed to watch after we finished our rough animations. Deng Cheng, Yizee and I managed to (sort of) finish the rough animation in time to watch and help out with the filming while waiting for Mr Nicholas and Ms Kaching to check our work. We got to hold the thing that like shows what scene and what take it is which is super cool.
Deng took a duck soft toy from MadeIt (I think) and held it hostage in our tent. Later on, Mr Xavier came it and took away the duck, I think he went to put it in the fridge. Afterwards, I used it as an inspiration and decided to put water wally in the fridge. I called it Ice Wally, although it wasn’t actually that cold when we took it out of the fridge at the end of the day.
We also continued our rough animations and referenced more videos to make it more realistic. It is really tiring as sometimes after spending a lot of time working on that one action, we found out that it is wrong and we have to re-do. 😦
Today, we also met Michelle from SCDF who came to talk to us about our work. It is so surreal that like the real people from SCDF are like interested.
