heyy guys! it’s us, cedar3. again.
yes, as you tell from the title, cedar3 has currently only 3 members present. sad to say but our 4th member, kaila is absent this whole week for school matters. but, i’m sure she’s really disappointed that she can’t enjoy here time here with us 😦 on the bright side, we have more food for ourselves haha. so in the meantime, tanya, kayla and gl have to work with better coordination and communication due to our manpower shortage.
through these few days, we’ve learnt some very valuable things that perhaps could relate to you guys in one way or another.
BE VERY VERY CAREFUL WHEN AROUND AWFULLY FRAGILE OBJECTS
our tent set up can probably be names the most fragile tent ever. why? because there are WIRES, STANDS, POWER POINTS, EXPENSIVE CAMERAS, SWITCHES, LIGHTS, STOOLS AND EVEN GLASS BOTTLES. so basically when we’re walking around our tent we have to really watch where we’re going, while dodging under wires, awfully hot lights, and stepping over camera stands. It’s like a homemade obstacle course in an air-con room, where you have to squeeze pass others without knocking over anything.
ALWAYS HAVE TISSUES AROUND YOU
our animation clip involves both real life action and animation *hint hint* so, for the past few days, we have been involved with the filming of our life action. and it’s actually really really really messy. to make sure that we don’t dirty the tables and the carpet, we always have tissues on stand-by. when we’re filming, what you don’t see behind the camera is actually a few of our team-mates standing by with tissues in their hands. It’s actually quite embarrassing come to think about it. It sometimes looks like we’re preparing for somebody’s nose bleed!!
ALWAYS BE GRATEFUL TO YOUR MENTORS
our instructors, ms jacinda and mr yi hua have helped us so much. without their help, our group would be so confused and blur right now. thankfully for our instructor’s awesome skills, they kept cool when we made some errors during filming. For the following 2 weeks, hopefully we won’t be a pest to our instructors when we ask too many questions regarding the animating progress!!
ANIMATING IS GOING TO BE A VERY TEDIOUS PROCESS
we’ve only started with the basics of animation and we already know that it’s going to take quite a long time for us to draw our animation frame by frame. nonetheless, we’ll persevere till the end because animating is going to be a very fun process as well!! after nemation, all of us would agree that we would have greater respect for all the animators, especially all those fantastic disney movies
do stay tuned for more updates on our animation clip and for more wacky behind-the-scene picturess!!!
